All men dream: but not equally. Those who Dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds Wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the Dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they May act their dream with open eyes, to make it Possible. Salary is relatively low compared to other top programs, but I'll count that as a positive.

I don't see how she could do worse than Holly the last couple of seasons. I do expect immediate improvement. I don't expect a Final Four in her first season, but we Sweet 16 should be the minimum expectation.

Welcome and hope folks will give her a chance.....Hope she hasn't read any message board fodder or she'd be depressed before she ever blows her whistle as the LVs coach. Some posts have been down right ugly.

Fulmer's presser was...interesting. And it sure seemed to confirm a lot of assumptions.

He didn't project a lot of confidence today....And if you read between the lines it sounded like early in the process he wanted to hire the best he could be it man, women, former LV or not.... but was told by AD staff members he needed to look to a former LV. That's pretty much how I took it.

I'll support her 100%, even though I'm not sold on her as HC. We shall see....I hope she is awesome!

Anyone who was paying attention could've told you this was how it would go. It was this same kind of insular attitude that relegated bammer football to decades of (mostly) mediocrity post-Bryant. They didn't right the ship for good until they went outside the "family" and hired Saban. Hopefully, the LV's avoid the same fate. Fact is, we merged the two ADs in name only. Behind the scenes the women are still very much separate, and Fulmer is just a figurehead for their programs.

Figurehead is exactly right. What I thought was interesting was that he named names. He subtly let the entire fanbase know that it wasn't his decision to hire a former player simply for the sake of hiring a former player...pointed out that a lot of coaches were interested (and of course they were; our fans have convinced themselves that not just anyone would've wanted the job, ignoring the fact that Tennessee is to women's basketball what Duke/UNC are to the men's game), and then he threw the women's side of the administration right under the bus. That was enough to tell everyone that he expects there to be another search in a few years. I hope there isn't. I hope Harper kills it here...not just for the sake of the program, but because she is just as likable as a coach as she was a player (she knocked it out of the park in her introductory presser, btw). But, like Fulmer, I have my doubts.

Another thing that was odd and funny was when he presented her with that jersey....Most times when that's done at a intro presser they stand there for a bit for photos....Fulmer kind of handed to her half ass as if....here's your dang jersey, lets get this over with Got a feeling Fulmer got bucked in this process and he didn't much like it.....Again, congrats to coach Harper and hope she successful.

Kelly is an adult. Meaning she knows many on message boards are idiots. I doubt if anything said here would depress her.
