I propose a rule change: allow a defense to "forfeit" on third down, moving the ball one yard past the marker and giving the offense 1st and 10. I believe this would be a net positive for us. :frown:

Well for that to happen Tennessee would have to be capable of covering a receiver, and that isn't going to happen. I don't know if I've ever seen a Tennessee team so incapable of pass coverage. The only hope is that A&M self-destructs.

Well there's no doubt that the SEC is doing its part to try to get a second team into the CFP. Per typical.

But does it really matter? It feels like TAMU's offense is treating this game like a scrimmage. They're pretty much able to do whatever they want to do.

Disappointed in the mistakes, the fumble by Bailey (bad call notwithstanding) and the really stupid hands to the face by Johnson.  Without those two avoidable mistakes, it's probably really close right now.

We are still not out of it.

And earlier in the season aside, the last three games the 2nd half hasn't been awful (with the exception of the stupid JG pick 6 against Auburn), so I expect good things in the second half.

Yes they had a couple wide open guys in the flat on third down.  We did cover it a couple times though, and well. Just need consistency.

I see Bielema is going to coach at Illinois. That's a good fit for him.

I blame poor secondary play on Pruitt spending his time with the DL. Had he not canned Rocker, Pruitt could spend time with LBs and DBs. As it is, Ansley is stuff trying to coach 5/11 or 6/11 of the defense by himself. That doesn't work.

Thus far today, is aTm a better or worse team than you thought. It seems as our D has nothing for them in the pass game but we have been decent against the run.

If aTm is the second best team in the SEC, then there is a wide gap between them and Bama. And Bama just has another #1 class. When will their run be over? :crazy: We are a ways away from beating the mediocre teams in the SEC. Hope next year is more back to normal practice and playing wise. Covid isn't here to stay is it?

I mostly like what I see of Bailey, but he has a couple of JG-like tendencies, first and foremost he holds the ball too dam long. Second, he doesn't seem able to sense the rush. In that second category he is nowhere near as bad as JG and not as bad in the first, but it's still kind of eerie watching him emulate JG to some extent.

I am sure it's just rookie stuff and he will shake it off, but he does need to be more sensitive to the rush and learn how to get rid of the ball.
