Not as much as Bray but I think he'll shock some people.

Bray had such big arm he could my mistakes and still make plays with Worley we will need to limit mistakes and manage the game. I still think we will be happy with the play, but Bray's arm strenght is one in a million.

Bray had far more targets: G. Jones, D. Moore, Hunter, Stocker and D. Rogers. Worley will have one of those.

although Bray has a big arm IMO Worley will make better decisions and not try to force the deep ball in tight coverage but he'll hit his check down in the flats where the receivers will have to make a bunch of their yards after the catch

I could be happy with that. It should move the chains and keep our d off the field some. His difficulty will be scoring once we hit the red zone and the windows get smaller. I don't know that we can win with fg's but I know we can't if we turn it over.

Worley is making his first start against a far better defense than tyler made any of his 2010 starts against. Plus tyler had a little experience and worley has virtually none. I think expectations are too high.

Worley won't come on and do what Bray came on and did, for all the reasons mentioned above. Plus one more: Not only did Bray have more game experience when he stepped in last year, but he also had the benefit of taking a lot more snaps in practice as the No. 2 QB. Worley was the No. 3 QB until two weeks ago.

But we can at least hope that he will be better than Simms. If he isn't, we have no shot at beating South Carolina. As it is, he won't beat USCe on his own. Tennessee's running game and defense MUST be up to the challenge for the Vols to have a shot. I'm feeling a little better about our running game right now. And I think our defense can shut down USCe's running game. But despite Garcia being gone, the Cocks QB isn't bad, and he has some good receivers to throw to.

As I said before about Simms, if Worley doesn't get hit from behind and fumble, I will consider it a success.  :frown:

That's it in a nutshell.  I think we have some success running against them, but Worley has to do at least enough to keep them honest.   I also like our chances vs. their run game with Lattimore out.  On D, it will come down to us stopping their QB, which with the way our DBs have played lately is scary.  Even scarier...SOS is calling the plays and he is IMO a master of finding favorable matchups for his WRs.  But hey, it's Halloween...maybe we can give them a scare they won't soon forget.

I think Tyler had actually taken quite a few snaps prior to his first actual start.  But if you count him coming off the bench vs. USCe, I don't know how many it was.  I would guess he had attempted perhaps 10-12 passes at least though.

So if Worley is like 3-14 with 2 picks late in the 2nd, does Simms come back in?  Serious question.

I say it depends on whether Dooley thinks we can win it with Simms in the game.

I guess we will see how it all goes soon enough.

I think so. I will not be surprised to see Simms in the game at some point on Saturday...and maybe a lot.

He played in the opener against UT-M and saw significant action vs. UGa, Bammer, and South Carolina before he went into a week of practice as the number one.

I'm not so sure.  Unless Worley really, really stinks up the joint I think the keys to the offense are his, till Bray returns.  This is a staff that tends to make decisions and not look back.  They are clearly frustrated with the lack of production and have made whosale changes within the offense in an attempt to crank it up.  I find it interesting that if Lane can't go the B/U TB is a walkon -  :wow:

Don't always agree with the changes and think some are a bit too hasty.  Good example...not sure what Oku did or did not do to get relegated to third string last year, after being a top 5 recruit at TB, but the "great guy" that knocked him down a notch was Raijon (sp?) Neal.  Where is Raijon today?   Being willing to replace players is one thing, and even a welcome relief after Fulmer, but I sure would love to have Oku around and/or find out that Neal was not a mirage.

Get hasty enough and your team will be in chaos.

The timing of personnel moves and the perceived motives for them is also important, and a staff might be creating a certain perception.  But I will stop there.  For now.

I believe we are the opposite in opinions.  The staff has made a judgement that certain players aren't getting it done and have made changes in an effort to improve performance.  The lesson, if you want to produce, learn your position and execute.  Competition is a good thing.

Don't disagree at all, just not completely satisfied with the results. In other words, the judgment and dare I say motivation of the staff also matters and I am not terribly impressed with either so far.

But I hope Worley lights up USCe like a pinball machine.  Not holding my breath though.

I think he will play well. I don't expect 300 yards and 5 Tds.
