My grandfather was there and fought in WWI.....Came home with 2 Purple Hearts

Mine too. I don't know about the purple hearts but he served in the same regiment as Alvin York but didn't meet him til after they were stateside. Grandpa Pete went to Jamestown and had lunch with him one Sunday afternoon.

My papa was too young but his brother my great uncle served.    My great uncle got the nickname Pug while he was over there and kept it the rest of his life.
