Yep, as Pirate noted earlier Hooker is pretty amped. His read was good, but the throw sailed.

The "catch" was indeed a catch.  Their defense ruled us after the first three possessions.

Hooker hasn't been on, but he's under a lot of pressure.

On that 4th down play, Hooker has to give a receiver a chance to make a play.  He can't just throw it out of the endzone on 4th down.

Yep, tactical error there for sure.  You HAVE to AT LEAST throw it up for grabs on 4th down in the red zone.  I think we should have kicked a FG there and that is not hindsight.  No need to panic yet.  We can still play a little conservative here and there.

That is what I meant, CDV.  It is 4th down, you have to try to complete a pass even if it is impossible.

I don't think it was a designed run because none of the receivers on that side blocked.  He probably had that option if it was there, but I think that they were looking to complete a pass there.

I didn't like the play call.  It takes away half the field and makes the throw that much more difficult.

Losing Payton early certainly didn't help us any.

The gap between the talent levels of these two teams was bound to show itself eventually.

They haven't said on the broadcast what Payton's injury was (that I've heard).  It seemed to be an arm or a shoulder injury.

I will say this...of those three, the one that doesn't fit is UF.  That needs to change, by which I mean they need to be removed from that list of teams we lost to, and next season we should all have expectations that it can happen.

Evans out we get what happened tonight. Evans in I think the game could have been much different. Much closer. Much, much closer.

Evans would have help significantly but with the limitations of our OLine, after uga made their adjustments in the 2nd quarter would have negated some of that advantage

Well neither of us can prove our suppositions. However, there were a number of forays into the red zone where we came back with nothing but probably could have benefitted from a run game.

Our OL could not handle UGA DL in the run or passing game....Period.

Yep. I thought that they were completely dominant after our third possession, especially their D line.

I spent one of our possessions watching just Cade, and even he was overpowered more often than not. I know he’s been dealing with injury, but the line of scrimmage belonged to UGA last night.

Had a couple near misses on long passes that would have helped tremendously.  In fairness, one was on the first drive and we would have scored anyway.  The second one could have been another TD if thrown slightly better.

This team rarely makes the same mistake twice on offense

I didn’t rewind and watch that a second time, but it looked as though he was running in sand for a few strides on that route. If it’s the pass I am thinking of, it was a well thrown pass.

It was interesting to me they put Keyton in.  I figured they would move VJ to outside and bring Hyatt in to the slot
As the game went on they went to Keyton more and more - He had a nice completion on a deep crossing route in the 4th

I didn't expect us to beat some of the bad teams we beat. Vols played good with talent we have. When Heupel gets his recruits we will scare these  3 teams every time we play them. Eventually even beat them.
