Well, it stopped on the office computer and doesn't do it with Avast on the home computer. And I can now see Volznut's sig pic. Apparently Malware bytes was overly cautious. Which isn't bad, I guess.

Probably.  I am a Kaspersky guy myself.  I was not that impressed by Malwarebytes, but then I only tried used it to clean up my old XP box (and it didn't work at all).   I started phasing my XP computer out in 2012 and so depended on only the free version of AVG (why pay for a license for something I don't use much?).  Of course, Microsoft withdrew support for XP last year, which included updates to AVG.  Since I was only occasionally using my old computer and had removed all the sensitive stuff I just ignored the virus protection for a year.  But now I need to for an old data drive at work that only works with XP, so I recently installed Kaspersky.  It found 28 viruses  and now runs like 1000 times faster.

I expected it to be bad, but not that bad, lol.
