What herd is he joining is what i guess I'm asking.
All stupid wordplay aside, I think he will do well wherever he ends up. It's a sucky situation, especially for the team he managed to discombobulate for a game or two. Hopefully the dark cloud will go away, and we can get on with the rest of the season.

He could go to the CFL for a year or two until ready for NFL. If he does not want to play RB, I say he is a TE. I cannot see him on defense and too slow for WR. At slot, he would get beat up going across middle and NFL LBs would tear him up. He is a RB if he expects to sniff NFL. JMO. No inside info, rumor mill, or crystal ball reader.

Part of the problem is that NFL scouts are saying his best shot is at TE

According to his step-father, Hurd is headed to the West Coast to find a wide open throwing team so he can take his transfer year to study/train as TE or WR so he can play in NFL.
If so, Washington State under Mike Leach would fit (high plains desert). Oregon State may be a fit (weather not bad). Washington may be a fit because Chris Peterson has Huskies going (weather not bad in Seattle). If not all the way to coast, Houston throws a ton (hot humid god-forsaken town). I don't think UCLA or USC throw it enough (LA could fall into ocean any day).

Wasn't Hurd the one insistent on playing TB? I don't think Jones handled it well, but Hurd is an ass! Glad he is gone. fizzle him!

Delaying getting paid by two years seems iffy. If he kills workouts and interviews, he'll be drafted.

None of this makes any sense, other than the advise he was/is getting is not in his best interests (see father). I think he ends up entering for the draft. The more interesting questions is what impacts on his possible draft status have the events of the past few weeks impacted?

Yep. A lot of the power 5 schools that recruited him did so as a safety/LB prospect. Hurt wanted to be a running back.

Yep, and he excelled at the tailback position when he played hard, however, I do think that he "Jamal Lewis' d" a lot this year
