Peterman is proof IMO...that our QB development sucks.

Disagree.  3 weeks into a season and never having taken a snap, Peterman was simply not ready for the Swamp.  I would not question his development, so much as the judgement of Jones in allowing him to start.  Not sure how much "development" the staff could have done anyway, three weeks into the season.

After that, Peterman was tainted forever at UT.

That doesn't mean I think our QB development is great.  Just don't think Peterman is a good example to use.

Disagree back....He played another year and got no better.....He played and started last year at Pitt and was night and day different with Chaney. Dobbs isn't any better than he was this time last year. He can make 1 good play then follow it up with 2-3 bonehead plays....and his reads can be downright awful at times. His footwork is no better than it was 2 years ago.....Coaching would/should get that corrected. QB just like the OL...bad footwork equals bad results.

All QBs have bad games and as far as not being ready....why so many freshman starting at D1 programs?...That's a bad excuse.

Not disagreeing that the QB coaching at UT could be better, just don't think Peterman is a good example of that.  He never really got an honest shot after the Florida meltdown.

Agree that Chaney is a good QB developer.  Wish we had kept him.

I will also add that I wonder if the problem with Dobbs is development.  Maybe it is, or maybe he's just a runner who throws every now and then, and that's all he will ever be.

I will say that I heard he worked with Malone over the summer, and that connection seems to be doing well.

Here's the deal with Dobbs...it's too late to do much else with him, but if the passing game can keep making incremental improvements week to week and they keep letting him run (as occurred last night), we have a legit shot at the SECC.

You guys worry too much. There's an unemployed QB out there that's ready to move into the coaching ranks and pass on some pretty good tips to our greener recruits. He may also become our new AD. Remember you heard it here first.

If we could get him as a part time QB coach, I'd be very happy.
