Man!  This one hurts!
A Hall of Famer, great pitcher, and an all around good guy
The face of the Braves before they were good

All men dream: but not equally.
Those who Dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds
Wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the
Dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they
May act their dream with open eyes, to make it Possible.
This I did.
—T. E. Lawrence,
The Seven Pillars of Wisdom

He was the man during my childhood being a Braves Fan. A lot of the old time greats have passed this year........Bob Gibson, Tom Seaver, Lou Brock, Joe Morgan, Al Kaline, Don Larson, Dick Allen, Whitey Ford, Jay Johnstone, Glenn Beckert, Bob Lee, Dennis Menke, Jim Wynn, Bob Oliver Ron Perranoski, Matt Keogh, Biff Pocoroba {You are not a Braves fan if you don't remember him), Claudell Washington, Bob Watson (another every Braves fan should know) and managers Jim Frey, John McNamara, Eddie Kasko and Bobby Winkles. Many of these were not greats but any kid that was a baseball fan in the '70's most of them are household names. There were many more that I didn't list. What a sad year?

Losing Nuxy hurts. He was a great Brave. I met him back in '72. Just a good old boy who could throw the knuckleball. He was a genuinely nice man.
