Wow at this part! In January, Green-Beckham and two other men were arrested after Springfield, Mo., police found a pound of marijuana in their car. No charges were filed in that case I know if it was me that got caught with a pound of pot, I would be breaking rocks in the hot sun for the next 20 years.

Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: So the NFL wants to police anyone from using the "N" word..

After listening to Mike & Mike this morning, I had the following conclusions: 1) This is not intended to keep white players from using the N word to black players. This already causes a fight in the few instances where it is ever done. Remember the NFL is 70% black. 2) There probably isn't a problem with black players calling each other the N word. Many think there should be "Why can a black person say n*gger and I can't?" 3) But according to what I heard, the problem is players, presumably black players, saying it to referees. Not sure what profanities are flagged but this rule just adds racial epithets to the list. It doesn't mention other slurs but I guess if officials start getting called f*ggots, that will be included.

I don't really care one way or the other. I don't like Nike, but my dislike does not extend to not wanting UT to avoid them.
I am kind of pissed about how they screwed us out of some basketball commits, but at least that won't happen any more.
Why? Do you think Worldwide Wes will start funneling basketball recruits to Tennessee instead of Kentucky? I don't see that happening. UNC has been a Nike school for years and I hate it but the bottom line and the only thing that really bothers me is that ugly swoosh on every one of my UNC t-shirts, jackets, hoodies, whatever.

So whose death would you say was the worst musical tragedy? Buddy Holly, Big Bopper or Ritchie Valens? I'd say Buddy Holly but I saw the movie "La Bamba" and it sort of implied that Valens' death was the worst musical tragedy since the untimely death of Mozart.

Read a Patriots message board after a Manning win.
My goodness, football fans are delusional. Nothing he has done is because of him. EVER. It's always and only everyone around him. BITTER BITTER BITTER.
And it's delicious.
There's such a thing as Patriots message boards? Heavens to murgatroid! I assume they're populated exclusively by M#badword#s.

http://www.nooga.com/163599/with-help-from-online-donations-sons-grant-fathers-final-wish-to-attend-tennessee-game/KNOXVILLE – From time to time, we get a reminder that football can be more than just a game. For Chattanooga natives Matt Horton and his brother Jake Horton, it’s an opportunity to fulfill a wish for their ailing father, Ken Horton. Ken was recently given approximately two months to live by doctors who have been treating him for stage IV inoperable pancreatic cancer. When he told his sons that one of his final wishes is to go to a University of Tennessee football game, they knew they had to make it happen, even if funding was an issue. “When my dad told me he wanted to go to a Vols’ game, I could never afford it by myself, but I’d read a lot about crowd-funding for projects like Indiegogo, so I thought I’d give it a try,” said Matt. Matt and Jake turned to FundRazr.com, a social media-based fundraising app and website, to help make their father’s wish a reality. The goal: $300 to cover basic expenses for a trip for Matt, Jake and Ken to watch Tennessee play Georgia on Oct. 5 at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville. “I was giving it time to maybe build up and, I mean, it’s been less than two days and we’ve hit our goal,” said Matt. “I don’t know any of the people that have donated money – they’ve all been strangers.” As of Tuesday morning, the donations totaled $308. It’s a cause that has crossed the boundaries of football rivalries. Matt said the donation that put them over the top came from a self-described Alabama fan, who commented, “Hard for me to say as a bama fan, but GO BIG ORANGE....hope your dad gets to see a victory." It’ll be the first major sporting experience for Ken, according to Matt. He’s been to minor league games, but never a major college football game of this magnitude. With $300-plus already donated, the trip is on, but Matt said they would graciously accept any more donations. Perhaps they could get better seats, parking, souvenirs or other mementos from what is sure to be a memorable day for the Horton family. “We’re going to get him the best seats we can get,” Matt said. “Right now we’re just trying to get three of the cheapest seats we can get, but if more money comes, we’ll definitely go for better ones.” Regardless of the view, it should be a day to remember. Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Are all these people really from South Carolina?!?

With the exception of the part of the state located around the sewer that they call Lake Hartwell, I find South Carolina to be a genuinely nice state to be in. It's one of the few other states that I would consider living in.
Love the South Carolina coast. Myrtle Beach in the summer is way too crowded, but other than those 3 months it is a delightful place to visit, and especially if one is a golfer.
South Carolina: Too small to be a state, too big to be a lunatic asylum. Herb, you just like the state because that's where Kleimpsen is located.

Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Butch on his QBs
|
on: August 20, 2013, 05:56:08 EDT

In his post-practice gathering with the media types today, Jones said that Riley Ferguson was the guy who stepped up when they made the QBs live. Of course, he followed that up by saying "Don't write that. I'm not naming a starter." It's almost always a nightmare to start a true freshman at QB in the SEC but I'm all for it because it will mean that the freshman is better than Worley or Peterman, neither of whom have impressed me. Edit: Of course it's still almost a given that Worley will be the starter on 8/31, but it would be most interesting if the young guys can step up and pressure. You gotta love Ferguson. He already hates Bamar!

Please keep my family in prayer, I'm walking out the door to attend my dad's memorial service, He left us early Sunday morning. He was a life long die hard VOLS fan. He had just gotten himself a 70'' tv for the upcoming season. I know He is having a whole lot better time than we are right....GO VOLS!!
In heaven, the Vols go undefeated and win the MNC every year .
