I was convinced Jerry was gonna pull the trigger.  Somebody must've reasoned with him at the last minute.

I never thought so.  Jerry has always been extremely loyal to his starting QB and he seems to still like Romo.

Heck, he kept Aikman around for a year or so when apparently stepping over a yard line would cause a concussion.

Johnny Football will never be humble IMO. You cannot be his physical size and succeed as QB and be humble. I had a basketball coach in high school that told us "It is not bragging if you can back it up.  If you not not like what your opponent is saying, stop him and shut him up." He also told us that if we acted that way in front of him, we could sit on the bench next to him until we learned a lesson. He also used that old line "Act like you been there and expect to do it again."

Let Johnny Football enjoy the attention and fleeting fame as long as he can. You need bad examples of how not to act in addition to good examples of how to act to teach people.  Johnny Football is a good example of how to play the game as well as a bad example of how to react to success.
