one from saturday night..he's earned it..  he has single handedly made Vandy a game to look forward to now..I mean lets face it..Vandy is,was and will always be the "Dore" mat of the SEC,pardon the pun,Franklin has just made it more enjoyable to as coach said "always kick the $hit out of them" 

28 of the last 29 games we've won against them I think it is....when they win that many against us then they will have my respect,until then all I have for them is this...

for whatever Fulmer or Kiffin or us fans have done to piss them off they finally passed the turd torch to someone other than us and it being Vandy and that pecker wood coach of theirs is just the icing on the cake..still gotta beat UK but I think the monkey is off UT's back and like coach said last night,the players grew up a lot last night...This could be the game we all look back on as the turning point...freshmen getting their heads handed to them by top 20 teams from this conference this year will pay big dividends in the next couple of years..Taking their lumps and learning..I just hope we beat UK and get the extra practice and experience in a bowl game no matter who or where it is will be big for this team..Go Vols!

We may be a year or two away from getting the talent to compete every week in this conference but we got enough young guns to make a game of it at home if we play smart...I doubt any of LSU's players expect think they will have any trouble from us....thats just what we what them to think...I know our boys will play hard..on paper we lose..but thats why they still have to play it on the field...stranger things have happened and karma can be a real beotch and ol' Les is due his...Go Vols!

anythings possible if they don't bring their A game...I'd say coach Dooley has the Tigers by the tail..He doesnt have to Coach up the Vols..hell they all know the No.1 team in the nation is coming to town and is reason enough to get jacked up and give it their all and Simms played well against them last yr...but for Les Miles its a different story...They just pounded Fla last week who beat UT earlier in the year...Poor old UT isnt very good and just lost their starting qb..Its hard to get your team up every week and I think UT will give them all they can handle...yea I'm drinkin' the kool-aid while wearin' my Orange colored glasses but Vols win a sloppy game for both teams 24-22

You keep dwelling on that, and it is important, but their average starting position after kickoffs was only at the 24.  That is worse than the 20 from a touchback, but not by much.  Actually only one kick failed to get inside the 10, while one was right at the 10.    

Here is the total summary

Kickoff to start game - 69 yards to the 1, returned to the 20
Kickoff after first TD - 58 yards to the 12, returned to the 35
Kickoff after second TD - 67 yards to the 3, returned to the 20, BUT an illegal block put it back to the 10
Kickoff after the FG - 60 yards to the 10, returned 15 to the 25
Kickoff after the third TD - 69 yards to the 1, returned 31 to the 32

There is room for improvement, but on the possessions where Florida got past the 20 (3 of the 5) they also failed to score.  I really don't think it was as bad as you seem to think.

I keep dwelling on it because it bit us in the ass many times last year and is still happening,the only difference is that the coverage has been better so far this year but all it takes is one guy to be out of his lane and oops there goes another game..That being said having two kickoffs that dont go past the 10 yrd line at a program like UT is unacceptable,I remember when we had guys that would kick it through the endzone,now we cant even find it giving our opponents the ball at the 35 or better every other posession will cost us games

Not to mention the fact that we couldnt even kick off past the 10 yrd line when we did score...

I though the defense was the only bright spot of the 1st half and kept us in the game,couldve been a whole lot worse..the kicking game is one of the biggest reasons why we lost...plain and simple,we cant kick off past the 10 yard line let alone into the end zone,Fla had great field position the whole day..we missed a field goal and had a punt blocked

I like Dooley I think he's a good guy but I saw the same problems yesterday that UT was having in Fulmers last yr and during the Kiffin mess and last yr and still lingering and it doesnt seem to be addressed after all this time...I think he will correct them,maybe with another good recruiting class,maybe just lack of quality players especially in the kicking game but here's the list you decide...    
1.They still cant run the ball
2.They still cant kick the ball passed the damn 10 yrd line on a kick off,let alone put it in the end zone for a touch bk
3.They still cant return a punt or a kickoff more than 5 yrds,special teams looks more like special olympics
4.They still cant protect the qb
5.They still cant tackle or wrap up..trying to knock a player down instead of wrapping them up
6.Way too many penalties,stupid lack of disappline penalties...how many face masks did they have and personal fouls?

My whole point is that any play that was questionable for UT they were quick to review it and stop the game but in that play they just hurried up and let Fla snap the ball without giving UT the benefit of the doubt

You still need to make two 2-point conversions.  You can either have 3 tries to make two or two tries to make two.

But if you dont get it then your 17 pts dwn and you need 3 scores just to tie...I say worry about the 2 pt conversions when and if you score again,every point counts
