I mean, he's doing what he's doing at KANSAS STATE. They sucked for a century before he got there, they were routinely in NC contention in his first tenure, they sucked after he left, and now they're good again (and getting better every season) in his second go-around, at an age when most coaches have been retired for a decade or more. And it's not like he's recruiting the lights out, either. You really can't at a place like that (without getting in trouble with the NCAA). Just imagine what he could do with some 5* talent at his disposal.

He was very briefly mentioned as a candidate at UT...I think when Lame left, but everyone was like "he's too old". What the hell, he would do well anywhere I think. I knew a couple in West Lafayette that moved in their 70s to be near their son. They did mention it was tough, but it can be done. Yeah, but going from retired to working 18 hours (or more) a day is a whole different kettle of fish. |
