Depends if CCM uses his thoroughbreds like plow mules like he is custom to do. Stand around...work the clock down to 3 seconds and fire up a 3.

We have the talent....it's time for CCM to crap or get off the pot. And start the season off much better and not have to fight for our NCAA lives the last 4-6 weeks of the season.

Saw the last 15 minutes and what I saw was good. Believe they are showing it again on ESPN2 later tonight.
6954  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Remember when Bristol speedway was trying to get us to play a game there? on: July 09, 2013, 04:23:01 EDT
We spent 4 days in New Orleans when we played Miami and I got a total of about 10 hours sleep in those 4 days. I was sick for a week when we got home. Went back when we played Va. and I learned my lesson from the last trip. Got more sleep and I would agree that stay wasn't as much fun as the UT-Miami trip.

Halftime of the Miami game I went to the restroom and there must have been 50 UT fans packed in there and 1 (one) lone Miami fan. One semi-drunk UT fan asked the lone Miami fan...." Did all you Miami fans come to New Orleans together in a Volkswagen bus?" It broke the whole restroom up...the Miami fan zipped up and walked out without saying a word.

CUM is a slime ball...snake oil salesman. And when the pressure gets to him he gets ill.

The nail in Fulmer's coffin was the day Bama hired Saban. Fulmer's saving grace was he had a good record against the Crimson Turds. That all came crashing down when Saban arrived.

The coffin was covered with dirt when 30,000 plus Bama fans sang in Neyland.
6957  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Video on Daniel Helm. Impressive. on: July 04, 2013, 11:32:10 EDT
It looked like they were using our corners from last year to cover him in the video!

Did they whiff on tackles and get windburn as he went by?

In another "Gawd, I feel so old moment", I remember when this song was new and played on AM radio. Yes young pups, there was no FM radio where I lived. And we had a black-and-white TV with 4 channels. And they went off the air by 1:00 AM.  Oh, the humanity!!!

I was 13-14 before we got a color TV....I was so excited I stayed inside and even watched Soap Operas all afternoon.

All the local AM stations around us went off the air at night or you couldn't pick them up after sundown because they reduced their power so all of us had to change the channel to WLS out of Chicago.

Not my kind of music,   I'm more into the  '40's  '50's

But as one of my memories:   Does any one else remember   Andy Griffiths "What it was was football" ?

I got the original 45 record of it....I go way back too!

Glad you are on the mend!

Can't wait until the Farmers market gets cooking here....Last year we put up around 200 ears of Illinois Sweet, sweet corn. Some of the best I've ever had and I've had-em all. Prior years we put up Bodacious sweet corn and it was good but not as good as the Illinois sweet IMO.
6965  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: For WWII Aviation buffs - The P-38 is my favorite A/C from WWII (K. Johnson!) on: June 14, 2013, 03:35:51 EDT
My grandfather was a turret gunner in a B-17...til he had enough senority to move to a side gunner.. He told some gruesome stories of what happened to guys who were shot in a turret....usually involved shoveling the man out. He said he was lucky because the first mission he flew after moving positions, the new belly gunner caught a bullet and.....not much was left of him. Guess i liked those the best...and the men who flew in them.

40 miles from me in Halls, Tn. is an old B-17 WWII training base and museum. The base was the largest B-17 training base in America. If you are ever in the area it's worth the visit.

I told 5 of my buddies I was with after the 2001 SECCG cluster....that loss will be the downfall of UT football as we know it. Sadly I was correct.

I've been to Alaska twice and loved the place. I've had the pleasure to travel all over the globe thanks to Uncle Sam.  I'd put Alaska in my top 3 favorite places I've been.

Pats have the best 3rd and 4th and one % in the NFL...Don't see them pulling Brady.

Who knows how they will use Tebow.

Dang you Clockwork!!!! You brought tears to my eyes with that reminder. That was on my birthday and what a great birthday it was. When the clock hit 00:00 I hit my wife so hard in the back I knocked her down about 6 rows and then hugged everyone I could find. It took me 2 hours to find her after that.

If CBJ can go 6-6 and get us to a 'Who Cares Bowl'.... then he needs a raise and an extension! JMO

Good story....I've seen several shows on the same subject.

I'm an aviation nut...have been all my life. I got to spend several years involved in it in Naval aviation back in the day.
