This should be a pretty good season for the Bravos, they should suprise people with their hitting. I think the Braves will win probably 90-95,It doesn't help that the Nationals could win 100. My Dad will be suffering with the Yankees this season,Texeira and Granderson out until mid May. I think the Yanks will win 84-85 games which probably means new Manager in 2014.

I really don't care anymore about MLB. Just for the nostalgia of it is all.

Same here. I haven't followed MLB closely since Sosa and Big Mac battled it out in the home run race in '98. But I do enjoy minor league ball; I would get season tix to the Smokies if I lived a little closer. And I enjoy college baseball. I'm hoping Tennessee is back on the right track.

I started going to St. Louis Cards games in the 50's at Sportsman Park....Grew up with a bat in my hand and grew up in a era that when you weren't playing an organized game you were playing a sandlot game from morning till dark. Some of the worst fights I ever got into were over a safe/out call playing sandlot games I played in HS and college and lived for the game. But in the last 15 years or so I just can't get into watching baseball on TV....I still watch my Cards some..every game is shown here in West Tn. and I'll watch about a third of them...There was a day I would have been glued to the TV watching them.. Baseball to me now is boring....changing pitchers for a left hand batter...then changing for a right handed batter...then a middle reliever...then a closer...etc..etc...etc...Good gosh give me the days of Bob Gibson when a pitching coach or manager was too scared to go out to the mound for fear of being cuss out for even thinking about taking a starting pitcher out if he was still battling and still had his team in the game...It drives me fooking crazy!! And IMO the season is way too long...starts in the Winter with Spring training games and goes to darn near Thanksgiving...Good grief!!

I've always been of the mindset that if one doesn't like a particular sport, then don't play it, attend games, or turn your TV on when games involving that sport are on instead of trying to tell others why they shouldn't be a fan. My TV has the ability to change the channel when something I don't want to watch is on. I'm not a fan of the NBA, soccer, tennis, and some other sports, so I just don't watch them.
As for me, I've been a baseball fan all my life, played college baseball and played for about 5 years after college, and am still a fan of all levels of baseball. I'll be a fan until I die.

FWI to any Baseball fan reading this now: ESPN special just started about the great Roberto Clemente, "The Clemente Effect." I'm recording that baby now.

Really!?! Wow. I think of those days when I was a kid and remember the National League All-Star starting outfield of Mays, Clemente and Aaron. Watching it now, up to to the 3,000 hit part.

I was there. What a blast. Only time I ever got to see Mays and Clemente in person.

Tell us about the times you say Honus Wagoner, Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth, and Cy Young play in person, too, MidTn. Clemente was special and he played with some really great players with the Pirates.
