Title: I must say

I would not mind seeing a rematch of this game.  Great defense.  Our guys need to watch this game and aspire to get better.

What did we do.  Score 7 against lsu and 3 against bama?  Neither one score at TD tonight.  Pretty good D on both sides.  Just saying...

Given the composition of the two teams, and the build up, it seems so appropriate for this game to end 9-6 in OT.  I would almost have predicted it, but it seems like one of those things too obvious to happen.  But it did, lol.   I guess games sometimes do go the way you might expect.

The one thing that I think is lost on many is that a game like this underlines the importance of basic football.  The things that have been overshadowed by gaudy offensive numbers in recent times.  Case in point was where LSU punted from deep in their territory and the Bama receiver let it go over his head, hit the ground and roll for 72 yards and no return.  That was HUGE!  Blocking, tackling, lining up, penalties, clock management, kicking, turnovers, etc. all were key in how this game went.  I have to say that I loved it.  It would have been even better if we were in it.  I wonder if Coach Dooley will use this to teach our guys a thing or two?

Had Bama won, I would say a rematch is possible, even likely.  But I think the voters will punish them severely for losing at home.  Now, I think Boise, Stanford, and OSU will all have to lose (and Bama and LSU win out, of course) for there to be a rematch.  Even though those are CLEARLY the two best teams.  None of the other unbeatens would have gotten within 3 TDs of Bama last night.

I am opposed to a rematch so long as any of the three teams you cite remain undefeated.   I hope Stanford loses to Oregon...I refuse to acknowledge the Pac 12 as a football power this year.  I also don't care much for OSU, and hope OU beats them.   I would like to see Boise State finally get a shot.  They might get hammered, but there will finally be nothing for them to complain about.  Having said that, they drilled a pretty good uga team at home, so who knows.

Having said all that, the premise seems to be that LSU will remain undefeated.  They do close at home vs. Arkansas, a team I think is much improved over the one that faced bammer earlier this season (but with a really sucky D still, apparently, so...).

And I would not count out an upset by what is likely to be uga in the SECC.  I think uga beats Auburn, perhaps handily, and that USCe might even lose to Florida (if  Brantley's ankle holds up).  I don't really give USCe any chance.  But uga...well let me put it this way.  It's unlikely, but we weren't supposed to lose to LSU in 2001 anyway.

So what happens if LSU gets upset in the SECC, OSU and Stanford lose, and bammer is no. 2?

That would SUCK!   :hurl:
