Good points and agree.
The ONLY beef right now that I have with Butch is he's trying to run an offense they we don't even come close to having the personnel to run it. I'd like to see him adjust some and run some offense that plays more to our strength.
Right now I just don't see this offense getting any better against good teams trying to run it the way it is now.
The way I see it is that with the lack of offensive personnel, we aren't going to do any better running a different offense. This way at least the young guys get some reps in it, and the recruits can see how much we need good players and how much opportunity there is to play and play early. As the saying goes, six of one, ...........

I don't get it, either. Anybody with half of a brain (which some would say disqualifies me, by they way - they don't think I have that much gray matter) knew coming in to the season that this was going to be a very tough year, given our current talent level and the brutal schedule we play.
6-6 and Butch has done a really good job, in my opinion. 7-5 and he deserves coach of the year consideration.

UT is not running a spread option. I do not understand why anyone can think that. Butch will run his spread option offense when he has a QB that can run. With Worley they do not run a spread option.
It's an offense based on the spread option, and the QB has to run the football on occasion to keep the defense honest. It's what Butch did at Cincinnati.

I hate to even bring this up- but even though Todd's name has never been connected with PEDs, he is guy who really changed physically from one season to the next. Right or wrong, I'm afraid some will hold that against him. Unfortunately, no one is above suspicion these days. Heard all of that before, but as you say he's never been connected with any of that. Baseball people know he has done it the right way - in the weight room and hard work. What sets him apart from some is that his body didn't change in the course of one season, or even less than a season as was the case with some players. It took him a good 4-5 years to change it.

What needs to be done?
Fast forward to the spring, get all of the early enrolees in for spring practice and 5 extra months in the S&C program, get the rest in school in June, and play as many of the talented young players as possible next fall.
As for the rest of this year? Just don't lose to anybody you shouldn't lose to, and hope you can finish no worse than 6-6.

Not sure we have a offense that can beat anybody worth a damn.
Zero QB play....average WRs....average RBs and no TE. Playing a offensive system that we don't have the horses for and when the score was 24-7 the game was over. We get down and we have no chance with the offense we have now.
Gonna be a long year...folks might as well give in to that fact.
And to answer your question....we will not beat Florida. If we do, call it a MIRACLE!!
It's kind of tough to have good QB play in a spread option based offense when everybody in the free world knows that the QB can't, or won't run the football.

Should be a hall of famer, but some of the eastern voters who didn't see him play on the road much will hold the Coors Field reputation against him.
Not really a surprised. Been hearing from one of his uncles, who is a good friend, that this was going to be Todd's last year.

I'm happy to see Campbell County doing well. I'm a big fan of the Price brothers. Everyone has always considered Campbell County a coaching graveyard but I believe that perception is about to be laid to rest (no pun intended). Also happy to see Anderson County doing well...big, big fan of Davey Gillum.
I can't say the same for Grace Christian. IMO, GCA unintentionally makes a perfect case for why publics should be publics and privates should be privates...or, as an alternative, T$$AA should give some teeth to their almost worthless multiplier rule.
Can't say that I disagree with you at all. I'm for a complete public/private split once the playoffs start, as it really should be. The playing field is just not level there. That said, McKamey is a good football coach and does a good job using the rules as they are, just as Rusty Bradley does at CAK. Both are good guys and good football coaches. I've gotten to know the Price brothers pretty well, myself, and have had them on my show several times. I also had Davey on my show this morning. Good guys all, and what Justin and Matt have done at Campbell County is simply incredible. The had over 6K at the AC/CC game at L. Hope Dosett last night. I've been to game there when they barely had 600 in attendance, much less 6K.

The way Geeenback manhandled Coalfield (Vol commit Zach Stewart) shocked me. I had Coalfield as my favorite for state title. Greenback comes to Oneida this week for the Thursday night TV game on MyVLT and that one might get ugly. I continue to be surprised by how good Fulton is. Best in state regardless of classification IMO. They manhandled a pretty good Farragut team last night.
Yep, that's one I can't understand, either. Coalfield has struggled with some really good talent. I'm surprised that Bearden is 1-3 at this point. A positive surprise team is Morristown East. They were 1-9 last year, and they already own wins over Bearden and Billy Blunt, and only lost to Sevier County - one of the best teams in the Eastern part of the state - 14 to 10. Anderson County is 4-0, and all 4 wins have come on the road. They finally get to play a home game this week. Campbell County is 3-1, and darned near beat Anderson County last night. The Price Brothers - Justin and Matt - have done a great job in bringing excitement to that program and giving the county something to get behind. Grace Christian Academy is having another terrific year, as well. Randy McKamey does a great job there. Just some of the top of my head.

Herb,
Did you ever own or still own a sports jacket and pants they dressed that character in? If so, we need pictures for confirmation and/or, later, extortion. The Thanksgiving turkey drop clip makes me laugh out loud every time.
Let's just say that there were a few years there where I kept Sansabelt/Jamar solvent all on my own.

I'll tell my friends who own the house to do that. A married couple, one is a Gamecock, the other a tiglet. I'm sure they would welcome a gang of Vols to spend the weekend. Geez. Hanging out with a Rat Bastard Tiglet.

Just got the word that my son has now officially completed his out processing from Fort Campbell and the 101st Airborne. He has until October 8 to report to Fort Gordon (Augusta) GA for Captain's School. The moving van finished packing up their stuff this morning, and he and his wife are heading to Augusta on Sunday to secure living arrangements for the 6 months they will be there. So, that means that I am no longer a 101stDad and by popular demand have gone back to my "original" VTTW moniker. Mods - I would appreciated it if you can go in to Mr. Peabody's Way Back Machine and dig up my old HTV icon.
