For those of pissing and moaning about Bailey not getting the nod, did you really think that Hype brought Milton in to sit after he had seen Bailey and Hooker in spring practice?

Besides,  just be thankful that JG isn't the starter.  Had Pruitt stayed he would be back.

F

But you managed to repsond with your usual "class".  Thank you for once again showing what a class act you are!

You smart ass off about a player who is transferring and you point this finger at me?  Classic case of pot meet kettle right there.

And I don't "obsess" about East Tennessee High School Football.  I covered it for 25 years as a media guy, and I was the radio play by play guy for Maryville during Tee's 4 years there.  I know him well, and his father is a good friend.  I'll opine on things I have personal knowledge of whenever the hell I want to.

I take back what I said about you being a douchebag.  That's insulting good douchbags.

You are simply a miserable prick.

Who?

Good luck to him.

You are a total douchebag.

Heard this was coming late in the week.  I talked to Tee's Dad this afternoon.  He wasn't gitshirted. His decision. He's got some good options at the P5 and G6 levels.  Great kid, and a very good football player and athlete. Tee will be a good get for somebody.

I charge more for appointments after noon on Fridays. That's why I don't have many of them.

And the lawyering profession wonders why they are so disrespected.

Butch Jones level gimmicks.

Just be competitive and learn how to win games.  That's the only thing that will bring fans in and bring them back again.

It's nice to know that you are consistent.

Enjoy your weekend.

Prepping a brisket to go on my smoker around 10 PM for an all night smoke.  Tomorrow is going to be a good eats day.

6 arrests in one swoop.  That's damned impressive by any standard of measurement.

He’s gone. Again!

I do hope that he finds success and happiness.

And deletes his social media accounts.

He really needs to.

Three cash closings this morning. Short and sweet.

Title agencies love cash closings.

But my mortgage loan officer wife doesn't.

If they merged 2 mediocre conferences but nobody noticed did it ever really happen in the first place?

2 things:

1. It's nice to hear coaches who can speak without using cliche after cliche after cliche. There were a few used, but not continually like we used to hear from Botch.

2. It's nice to hear coaches speak who have a good command of the English language.  No further explanation necessary.

So there's that to be excited about.

As much as I hate it, Kliempsein and F$U will be in the SEC sooner rather than later.

Speaking of Texas exports, another one new to our area is Buc-ees. There’s one currently open over in Fort Valley, and another opening soon in A-O. I may have to make a little road trip.

Two more have been announced in East Tennessee:

One at the Genesis Road exit of I-40 in Crossville, and the largest one that they will have built to date is going in at the 407 exit, which is the Sevierville/Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg exit.  It's going to be adjacent to where the new Cherokee Nation Casino is going to be built.

The Whopper is the best hamburger you can get at a drive-thru. The Baconator from Wendy's runs second. Nobody can convince me otherwise.

Honestly can't remember the last time I went to Burger King, most likely in 2012 when we were on the Post at Fort Campbell waiting in the middle of the night for our son to return from a year in Afghanistan and that was the only thing open at the PX.
69  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Done & Dusted on: July 30, 2021, 04:00:08 EDT
That was fast. As noted in another thread, Covid has made the B1G and PAC iffy from a playing games, and therefore revenue standpoint. If ND came aboard as a full member the ACC might be enticing, but that's a lot of travel for non-revenue sports. Plus, the opportunity to play OU, A&M, and Arkansas was too good to ignore.

Even the "non revenue" sports are flying to places they used to bus in the past.  Travel really isn't a huge restriction in this day and time.

The other chain that always comes up in the “best fast food burger” argument is Whataburger. We just got them in our area, and I tried them for the first time. Very good, but doesn’t compare to InO.

Whataburger is my favorite burger place, especially the Fort Worth Stockyards location after seeing a show at Billy Bob's Texas.  My usual is a Monterrey Melt and a Chocolate Malt.

And I will say this - there is a huge difference in the corporate owned locations in Texas and the franchised locations that are popping up outside of the state of Texas.  I have a feeling those will be pulled back before all is said done.  Quality control is tough in that situation.

And I really like Pal's, too.  We often go through the one at the Tennessee/Virginia state line when on our way to visit our son, daughter in law, and our two grandkids that are in Northern Virginia.
71  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: And right on cue… on: July 30, 2021, 03:53:37 EDT
This whole power grab was brought on by the fact that Sankey and the other SEC powers that be felt pretty froggy when they basically saved college football last year all on their own.  The timing was just right to keep its stronghold on it, and even NIL couldn't slow them down.
72  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: And right on cue… on: July 30, 2021, 03:52:05 EDT
I knew it! I knew there would be more about this that I didn't like. Letting the tiglets in makes me nauseous.

On the other hand, it might ensure that they lose some games each season.

But I'm still queasy.

I'm pretty much with you, there.

But I am still not sure if the statute of limitations has run out on that thing yet, so my going to a game in the hamlet beside the sewer known as Lake Hartwell is doubtful.

Speaking Flat Rock, is our old friend still running the theater there?

And it's the last business day of the month in the mortgage industry and you can still leave at 11:30?  Nice to be the big guy in the corner office.  My wife will be at her computer until COB, and probably later than that.

Plus Pons, who will likely be taken late in the 2nd round, but probably "placed" on a European team according to NBA scout Maury Hanks, who is a good friend of Tony Basilio's and is on his show regularly.  Hanks made that statement on Tony's show yesterday.
