I wanted ot emulate Spock when I was a kid. I wanted to be the cooly logical data driven character that he was on the show. I always thought Spock was way cooler than James Tiberius Kirk (even though I loved the name Tiberius and the all out emotionalism of Kirk I identified more with the Spock character as a child) [little known fact - watch one of the first Season episodes - Where No Man Has Gone Before and if you look closely at the Headstone of Kirk in the episode it is shown as James R Kirk (this episode was one of the first three filmed) so the name was changed to James T for Tiberius Kirk after that intial episode]
