There's an interesting NFL player poll in this week's ESPN Mag.  One of the questions:

Who is the current QB, other than your own, for whom you'd most like to play?

Peyton Manning 54%
Drew Brees 13%
Andrew Luck 8%

They only listed the top three responses, but still- notice anyone missing?

That whole organization is just not for everybody.  I doubt Belichick would top a list of coaches to play for either, but it's hard to argue with the results.

Interesting.  When I read the question, I didn't assume they would have to play for the other QB's organization, just that they'd be playing with the QB.  Heck, that could mean the QB coming to their team.  Even so, I think it pretty telling that Brady isn't there.  I would have expected him to be second (or maybe even first).

I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that Brady hasn't won the big one in 9 years (and counting).  The average NFL player is around 26 years old.  Which means that not only were most of them not in the league yet, a lot of them weren't even in college yet when he got his last ring.  As a result, I don't think there's that reverence for him that we saw in the early part of the last decade.

That's not really what I meant to imply.  Just that Brady and Belichick seem to thrive together while both aren't guys just anyone can't wait to play for.

Wow, that's pretty wild.  I wonder how much of it is Brady's actual locker room and game attitude.  Publicly he is all smiles and charm, but in the last couple seasons he has let the mask slip quite a bit on the field, lashing out at refs and even his own players.  He had meltdowns against the refs this week and last.   Makes you wonder....
