He's a decent QB, no doubt.  But he has been surrounded by literally NFL talent at almost every position his entire career.  I've just never been that impressed with his physical skills.  He mostly seems to have the ability to loft the ball downfield to WRs who have beaten their man.  He does make some nice tight short passes at time, but IMO he is one of the most overated players in CFB.

Add to that his mother constantly berating the media for not giving her boy enough credit.      Ugh.  He's not in grade school, he's a grown man, give it a rest willya!

And on top of that, he has a shizzlety attitude.  Like his classless comments about "the red team" after our game...and frankly he is delusional.   Like earlier this week he was saying bammer wanted to make a statement like USC in 2002 that they really belonged in the other game and...he really said this..."all everyone will be talking about is us".

Uhhh...how did that work for you AJ?!

Shhh...don't tell his momma I said this though!  She might come after me!

Have you checked out the state of quarterbacking in the NFL lately? There are a lot of mediocre QBs starting for NFL teams. I think McCarron has a chance to go to the NFL and have a pretty decent career. I don't think he'll ever be elite status a la Manning, Brady, Rogers, Brees, but I imagine he could be better than complete non-entities like Gaebbert, Wheedon, Sanchez etc.

Maybe.  He projects into the 3rd round.  I see him as a career backup, but he might catch on with a team.

I don't think he will be any good though.  He will have neither the talent disparity nor Saban, who had a "special relationship" with him around to help him.  We'll see how he does with a level playing field.  Not well, I think.  But we will see...
