Title: I see Pruitt is saying Vols don't really need an OC.
Post by: volsboy on December 20, 2018, 10:23:46 EST
Well, judging by the offensive juggernaut that the Vols were, I think he is FOS. Just look at the tapes of the Charlotte game and he will see why. Why didn't he over-rule all those dud offensive plays they ran if the OC was so bad and not needed? Realistically you don't have to have an OC if the HC is calling the plays adequately. What makes a defensive oriented coach think he is an offensive whiz?

If you read between the lines he was saying you need the Jimmy's and Joe's no matter who the OC is and yesterday was about the signing day not who the OC is going to be....Now Pruitt could have said just that and it wouldn't have blown up did like it did on UT boards.

I don't care what people say, from my experience, you can't have great coaching without great players. Saban would not make this years Vols roster SEC Champs. If you had Bama's talent, you or I could be OC and they would be good still.
