The Irma track they just showed on the news has it making landfall in the Everglades this Sun/Mon and moving straight up the peninsula from south to north.  And though it should be moved out of the G'Ville area well before 9/16, the aftermath could prove problematic for any sporting events in the state for a couple weeks.

This one looks nasty.  Stay safe down there, folks.

Ive been thru many hurricanes during my time in Florida,  but I wouldn't mess with this one. I have some old friends heading up to stay with us in Columbia.  It's no joke

So I just looked.  We don't have common bye weeks.  And each of us has a big conference game on each other's byes, so those really can't be cancelled/postponed.  If it comes down to it, I'd say our game will be moved.  Atlanta's stadium looks to be available that day- although the Falcons play there the day after.  I don't know how hard it would be to turn it around for an NFL game less than 24 hours later, and that's the Falcons first ever game there, so I would guess that's out.  The Superdome is an option- the Saints are on the road that week.  But depending on how far West Irma ends up going, NO could be in its path by then.  The Titans are scheduled to be on the road that week, but against the Jags- so I would bet they swap home dates and that game gets moved to Nashville.

Or we could just play it Knoxville and go to Gainesville next year- but we know how reluctant UF is to do that.

New Orleans won't be under the gun with this one. The trend is east, not west. It isn't going to take much more of a shift eastward for Florida to get only a glancing blow instead of a direct hit. So if the trends continue, I think we're good.

Just off the top of my head, Irma should be done by then, but I haven't actually looked at the projections.
