You've given up on the Vols and are rooting for Mizzou?

Btw, I've always considered myself an optimist. I always manage to convince myself that my team can beat anyone, anywhere. I'm getting more excited about football season as we get closer, but I just can't recreate that optimism this summer. I guess I'm in the same boat as Revolver. I hope Dooley regains my confidence and respect because he had it at one time and I still want him to succeed. After the collective events that culminated in last year's losing season, I just don't hold out a whole lot of hope for that.

Yeah, but admit it, you're slipping just a bit.

Very, very little.

If you look at the schedule, we should have a chance. Our toughest game is Bama at home, and Bama's replacing a lot of starters...not an invincible team.

Georgia will also be tough, but they didn't beat us by much last year.

FL could have its worst offensive team since 2003.

I certainly think we'll be better than last year, hard to get much worse. But, like many others, I'm in a "show me" state of mind. It's just hard for me to shake that the last time we saw the Vols on the field, they dropped that huge, steaming, stinking turd in Lexington.

That may turn out to be a good thing, because it finally robbed Dooley and the team of any generalizations or excuses.  At the end of last season, we suxed, period.  Last year's team was the worst I have ever seen, and I have followed the Vols since 1982, so that includes 1988 and 2008.  Dooley can't talk about how inexperienced they are anymore, we have 19 starters coming back.  It's put up or shut up.

I am as skeptical as anyone.  On paper we should have a pretty good season, but I will believe it when I see it.
