Every single scholarship member of the 2021-22 LSU men’s basketball team is gone.

How would you like to be the new coach coming into this situation?

I think that "rats leaving a sinking ship" would be an appropriate description.

And, they also lost the commitment of all of its 2022 recruits as well as their single committed 2023 recruit.

Honestly?

If I'm an incoming coach, I would LOVE that situation. You get to build your own roster right away, and there's zero pressure to win for at least a couple years.

Coach?

As a fan that was disgusted by how LSU handled the situation, I love it.

BDV I get your point, but there are sanctions hanging over the program that might make it hard to build a team.  Or at least, I hope so.

I doubt it. Sure, Will Wade will get show-caused into the sun. But I’ll bet LSU skates out of this with just some minor scholarship reductions and a year or two postseason ban when they wouldn’t be sniffing the postseason anyway.

I don't see sucess in the near future for them.  Longer term, maybe.

But I hope they wander in a basketball wasteland for years, if not decades.
