That's big, and should go a long way toward minimizing the loss of Golden. He's probably not quite as good as Trae was, but he's definitely better than any of the alternatives currently on the roster.
I don't know that I would say that Golden was a better point player. Looking at the stats about the only thing I see that appears to sland in favor of Golden is that he shot a higher free throw percentage. Everything else seems to tilt Barton's way, and from watching Memphis play it certainly appeared that he was a better defensive player.
