Deal was close to being finalized when one side backed out. It is unclear at this point if it was Currie or Brohm

I hope that report is wrong, but you have to admit that normally it is pretty tough to convince someone to leave a job like that, where they have only been there one year.  I'm sure he is grateful to be at Purdue and be in the big 10/whatever.  If this was Louisville coming calling that would be different, but UT may not look so much more attractive to him that he bolts after one year.  It's a tough sell, I imagine.  I don't think the Currie/Schiano debacle plays into it at all.

Correct, and VN is actually saying he was wrong to announce the Brohm deal as done.

I hate to be crass, but Twatter is a fizzleing cesspool.  It's like the worst comment thread of a news story you could ever imagine, over and over and over again.  I know you can probably find decent corners of civility there from time to time, but that is probably outnumbered a million to one.  JMO, and GET OFF MY LAWN!     /rant over

Well Peyton has more money than Forrest Gump and God, so maybe he will do it for free. Coach, that is.
