care who wins, but dang any one of the top 3 Qb's could win it and would deserve it. Which one is not deserving? Guess we'll see after the games are done. Heck, McCarron has done a great job and not even close to winning it.

To be perfectly honest, I couldn't name 5 Heisman winners since '97. That was the year I completely quit caring who won an award that is nothing but the product of media-induced hype.

On the radio yesterday they were listing QBs up for the Davy O'Brien Award coming up next month. It was unreal  how many good QBs they mentioned. In the SEC it was several mentioned up for the award.

According to ESPN, Notre Dame is the front runner for the hypes-man trophy.....They will play in the NC game and break the SEC streak!  Oh wait....that was last year wasn't it.

ESPN says the Hypes-man winner will be a never before heard of defensive player from Michigan with one punt return shown on TV (covered by a field-level camera at a bad angle) overhyped by, ironically enough, an overhyped former QB from ocryo state.

It's interesting to look back on '97 with the benefit of hindsight.

Woodson has gone on to have a great career.  He's a sure-fire HOF'er.  For me, that makes the '97 robbery a little easier to take.

Of course, the guy Woodson beat isn't just a sure-fire HOF'er, he's in the argument for the title of "Greatest Ever" (for QBs, anyway).  So it still qualifies as a robbery.

Mariota blows chance at Heisman because he can't beat Oregon. Doesn't matter what else he has done in his career. Isn't that the way it works?

had any interest in who did since '97 and ESPN's campaign to ensure that Peyton didn't get it.
