stealing their paychecks. I don't mean just the Vols. Why is defense becoming a lost aspect of the game? These offenses aren't that special. Look at Nebraska. They were famous for being better in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Not so any more. These 45-44 ball games are getting old. They are fine if you win them, but still I hate to see defense not emphasized much these days.

JMO.....A lot of it has to do with these X-Box offenses that are being run in todays game. It's not the hard-nosed offense it was back several years ago when it was man on man. Zone blocking....5 wide and the shotgun 1 back crap...throw it 50 times per game. When your defense goes against this offense every day in practice then the defense isn't hard-nosed either. I coached under a head coach many years ago that said....Show me a soft offense and I'll show you a soft defense that goes with it. I think he was speaking the truth for the most part because you don't see the great defenses overall anymore.

Not much of it. I watched Auburn/Clemson. Clemson has a scary DL.

No...some would quit after Day 1.

Players under Kelly.... Jim Poteete....John Hooper...Richard Ross....John Tucker....Jack Cain thought the Junction Boys were having a picnic in the park compared to what they went through under those coaches..
