I have a feeling CBJ is telling commits to announce formally on NSD to make a big splash day - perception is very important in recruiting |

Saw on the news last night that he did make a verbal to the Vols. Pretty big get for the Vols, the number 2 WR in the nation...purdy good!

I've been pretty indifferent about Butch and TN football since the coaching search ended. I was crushed we didn't get Gruden or even my next 2 or 3 choices.
That being said, Butch is starting to get my attention.

If there were no changes with other teams (which there has been, I'm sure) the points UT picks up from North would put them at #22 in the Rivals team rankings. 2-3 more 5.9-6.1 players and UT will sail into the top 15. If Butch can pull that off he will have a done a great job with this class with little time and it will bode well for recruiting down the road. Even if he can't it would be no reason to be negative . . . December coaching changes can trash recruiting, especially when the guy before was not putting together a great class.

While the dreamer in me would like to think that is the case, I have a feeling CBJ and his staff are clawing and fighting for every one of these kids and won't know until NSD. |
