The Coaches Poll is harder to quibble with, but dropping 8 spots in the AP Poll after beating a team ranked in the Top 50 in EVERY power index is a head-scratcher.

With that said, I don't think even the blindest Tennessee fan would claim that this team played like a Top 10 team last week, so Butch needs to just go beat the dog snot out of VaTech and not worry about rankings.

I can't argue with either, really.  At this point rankings don't matter, just beat Va Tech

Just keep wining, the polls will take care of themselves

And that's what happens when you're the only game in the timeslot that anyone is watching, and basically the first game of the year.  If we had played the same game on Saturday, we probably drop no more than 2-3 spots.

I hope our next AD will take that to heart.  Big schools have absolutely nothing to gain by playing small schools on Thursday night.  Never again.

It was a good adjustment. App State had a good record last year but they just didn't play a very laudable schedule. Having said that I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't have about the same success this year as they did last year.
