They're finally available in my area, and I'm thinking about dropping comcast and making the switch. I only have one concern- the internet speed. They advertise a max of 18 down. I currently get 25 from comcast, but speed test usually shows an actual speed of only 13-14. I have about 10 connected devices, and at any given time half of them may be active. I stream a lot of video and do a little online gaming. Is U-verse going to be fast enough for me?

U-verse in Ohio flat sucks - speeds are bad to very bad (my mom's basic Comcast internet is faster). TV reception is not the greatest either (compared to DTV) YMMV

If nothing else, I'm going to take their offer to comcast and get them to beat it (ie, pulling a Saban).

I have U-Verse. I don't do gaming. I have internet, phone and TV. I'm pleased with it and the two year introductory price was excellent. The sales person even gave me the retention number to call when the two years were up. I just did a speed test and got 17.93 down. I like their DVR features and the only time the system has been down in a year and half was last August when the Great Flood of 2014 took out the road leading into our neighborhood and took the utilities with it.

Go get Comcast to give you 50 or 100 download. It will blow you mind. It's like it sense what you want to do before you press the enter key. U-Verse sucks in comparison.

Comcast is the devil. Agree on customer service, but their Internet speeds are pretty awesome.

AT&T service is the pits. kept having internet issues they could not resolve and AT&T VP friend elevated issue and got nothing but broken and lies. looked at the u-verse and got the same broken issues. comcast not available in Bham, but have charter bundled and service is great and never have a cable outage.

Well, looks like I'm sticking with comcast. Got them to match AT&T's price, plus they're upgrading me to 50M internet and giving me the fancy new DVR that records 5 shows at once. I'm satisfied.
