We had a software company do a remote software update to prepare for the new lending rules that go into affect August 1st. So what happens? After they finish, one supposedly unrelated program has to be reinstalled and then we have to call our copier company to reset the scanning settings that let the copier scan documents to our computers.

These things aggravate me enough without IT guys screwing them up.

It is not computers you should hate on, it is software writers. Mostly, you should hate on hackers that force Microsoft to rewrite/update their OS that causes most other software to stop working. Each software installed uses different segments of code that has to be repaired when Microsoft updates to repair a perceived weakness that they will get sued over. More than likely when your lending software provider wrote its code, it intruded on some other software code and changed it.

If software was not so finicky, IT would have no job. Also, good luck stopping a lawyer from suing over something downright stupid the client did.
