I'm back and forth.....Name like Gruden who all kids know and it would spike recruits from the get go....Verses a guy who has been successful in big time football. Last time Gruden was in college was 1989 at Pacific as the TE coach. Like said above that would be a huge money gamble. He'd need to hire top notch OC and DC.

I'd roll with Gruden but I just don't see why he'd want to do it. Chucky walking up to the podium would be epic on the surface....and more so if Peyton were sitting up there with him.

Griffith was the one on Finebaum a few days ago that said he didn't think UT would make a change unless we could get David Cutcliffe. So I wouldn't believe Griffith if he told me today was Sunday.

Exactly....Penn State beat them last year then won the Big 10 championship and OSU goes not even playing in the Big 10 championship game.

Gruden's last college job was the TE coach at Pacific in 1989......Before that he was at Southeast Missouri State for the 1988 season and in 1986-87 he was a GA at Tennessee. So it's been 28 years since he was a college coach at Pacific. He last coached in the NFL in 2008.

More weirdness with injuries under Butch Jones.  There are repeated instances of players playing hurt and being less effective.  Marquez North comes to mind.  Very strange.  Was his inability to throw downfield against uga due to a shoulder injury, and if so should he have been playing?   

I've read......This issue goes back to preseason camp. Have no idea if true...but on the surface I've not seen him get hurt in a game and it wouldn't surprise me that he started the season because we didn't have a choice and they knew Gitmo wasn't ready.

I'll wait until a UT official makes the announcement before I get giddy. The trolls have been out in full force for 2 weeks now. I don't think you offer a coach when you have a coach....Auburn found that out with the Petrino cluster while Tubberville was at Auburn.. Gruden and Butch are pretty close and I see no way anything is being done unless Butch is ok with it which I doubt. I find it funny that all these 'Insiders' come out during coaching searches but not one 'Insider' could tell us who the starting QB was going to be 3 days before the first game.

This betting thing the way I've been told is a offshore site and there's not that much money involved.....A small amount of money can swing it pretty heavy one way or so I was told. Most of the money is UT fan money I'm sure.

Have to agree.  In the first two years this was not true, but that was because Butch had no choice but to play younger players ( a fact he endlessly reminded everyone of).  I guess if not forced, he will stick with the underperforming starters.   

Having said that Kelly should definitely be the starter.   I only question that Fils-Aime doesn't come off the bench more.  I guess we will see what he does Saturday.

Fils-Aime has been battling some sort of injury the past few weeks.....I've never seen a team with so many injuries. Soft.
