I know that this is a big if but....if Locker can stay healthy, he showed that he can get it done at a high level. He was awesome before the injury...IF he can stay healthy then we will be fine....but i would draft a qb just in case. He may also benefit from working with a legit offensive mind...he had Palmer and Loggins the past 3 years and consensus is, they sucked. I am hopeful for the first time in many years.

Ummmm, the people are exactly who the "government" should be working for, and hence who the UT administration should be also.  Yes, I understand reality, but until "we the people" start directing our elected officials, nothing will change.  And, without the people/fans, there is no sports program needing coaches.  End of rant.

I still have not changed my mind. It is still no.  He lied to NCAA and they will never forgive him or forget. If we have one little slip up, they will penalize us.  We do not have an administration that has the backbone to stand up to the NCAA. As much as I liked the job Bruce did, he lit the fire that burned the bridges that would have allowed his return.

Stop living in the past and look for a new beginning with someone who can actually coach and is not in over their head. It is not going to be Bruce.

I think Bruce deserves a new beginning, can actually coach, and is not in over his head.  I think he was the best BB coach we ever had. Just my opinion but I think that if he is good enough for the 50 other schools that will be lined up to hire him, he is good enough for us. Regarging the administration, I thought they worked for us....meaning, enough fan outcry and they should listen.  Again, just my opinion. 

So....has anyone changed their minds yet?  If we dont hire Pearl, I bet blunderbilt will.  Stallings is a complete and total maroon.  He constantly runs off players with his ass-hat personality and now (combined with injuries) he is down to 7 scholly players on the team.  I would rather have Pearl than cuanzo and sure as hell dont want to see Pearl at blundy.  (Note to Herb...I stole your "ass-hat" insult, just too funny not to use on a regular basis!

That is what irritates me the most. I live in the Nashville radio market and hear him on the radio alot.....asshat is accurate. He has now refused to go on certain radio shows here because they made him mad in an interview.  Another show wont have him on because he wants to dictate what questions they ask him. He has some sabin in him with how he deals with the media.  I hate his dirty stinking guts...and i hope he gets incurable jock itch in his mouth.

Fulmer had 2 losing seasons in his last 4 years, and probably not coincidentally, he had Cut those 2 years he won.  He was not recruiting well, and he was making bad hires. I knew we'd start getting worse in the late 2000's when I was looking at the recruiting classes. He was getting lazy and entitled, and needed to go. There are no guarantees in life, you certainly can't predict what would have happened if we kept Fulmer another year and then fired him, it could have been a better hire, but likely Hamilton would have bungled that one as well - he was a terrible AD in hindsight. Who knows? You can't predict what happens had we not fired him at all....based on what happened at Bama, FL, etc it's likely we'd be in similar shape...but that's all speculation.

You can't play that game. The decision to fire Fulmer was just and the right thing to do. The decision to hire Kiffin was bad, and obviously now we can say Dooley was worse because he did not improve the talent. It happens. bama took a while before they hired the right guy as well.

If he doesnt win 8 games next year then alot of unrealistic fans are gonna blame the coaching staff and call for a pound of flesh.  But i agree with you guys...we didn't get into this mess overnight and it is gonna take a couple of years to dig out. Talent is coming though!

Please. That photo is clearly faked. Typical internet hoax. They showed half a dozen replays during the game and after. He was clearly in-bounds on all of them. The officials reviewed the play under the hood and let the call stand in real time. The butthurt from Alabama fans is incredible

UT play in a bowl game after this season?  I hope the powers that be at UT would have enough sense and class to decline.  UT doesn't deserve nor need to be in a bowl game this year. 

I agree with you....I would rather see the coaching staff work to get the best recruiting class in the country than spend time coaching a meaningless bowl game.  Many of the players that they would be coaching are seniors and will be gone anyway.  I just dont see all the benefits that others do to going to a real low bowl game at this time. I also agree that a losing record should not qualify for a bowl.  A top ranked recruiting class will help build momentum for next years recruiting class more than a bowl would.  Just my opinion.

I agree. I'm not disappointed in the coaching this year at all. I see a marked improvement in execution on both sides of the ball. Not saying it was great but long strides from where Dooley had them. Much less confusion IMO. Extra practices would be nice for the young guys but I couldn't stand the thought of losing to Duke or GA Tech or whoever we would have wound up playing.

I would rather have our staff busy locking up a top 5 recruiting class than spend time coaching  a liberty bowl game. Jmo

I am at least consistent...this staff cannot be held responsible for the mess dooley left and it will take more than a season to fix it. Mike Munchak is not a good NFL head coach.  He hired a dud for an OC last year and replaced him with an unqualified in-house OC that aint up to the task. The DC sucked too until he brought in Greg Williams to straighten things out. Dowell Loggins sucks and Munch must go. He has had time and got a plethora of players in the offseason to right the ship and we still suck. Man it is tough to be a football fan in Tennessee right now.

I guess I got worked up while reading some truly idiotic comments on other boards, calling for the entire staff to be fired....and i took it out on you guys. I do believe that this staff needs more than a season to teach their system and recruit better talent that fits their system. I also believe that hiring a new OC or DC would set us back even farther. I believe that this staff has a track record of success with their system and need several years to get us back. I think we are on the right track and we are right where most thought we would be at this point. Before the season, most if us had Missouri penciled in ad a win but they turned out way better than we thought. I also think that blunderbilt will probably beat us...."cough! gag!"

No...it says hollerbaby on my birth certificate but i grew up.  I bleed orange....this staff and this team are giving their all for Tennessee. They are making huge sacrifices in their lives and their health simply so i can enjoy watching them play football...they have my gratitude and respect. They are Vols for life...as am i. Not sure what you are....could be a bammar for all i know.
