Upon further review, on both the long passes for TDs Hunter was wide open

Those that haven't deleted their recording of the game, watch the Z Rogers TD.  Amerson was playing the deep left in a cover 2.  The left safety came up to cover the short zone and Amerson turns and runs after Zack so all of the "All Almost Could Conference" corner's whining about expectng safety help is a bunch of BS.  Hunter was open in the right short zone because the safety was slow to come up to cover.

I also believe that Amerson was playing the deep right in a cover 2 on CP's TD but bit on the out fake and got toasted on the up.  Hunter was wide open in the center zone as the LBs were slow to drop into their zone.

BTW, there was excellent downfield blocking by the WRs on CP's TD run.  One reason that Amerson couldn't catch him is that he was pushed back onto his heels by a WR block was just flat slow to get off the block.

In the first half NCS used Amerson as a safety a lot.  In the 2nd half they changed to a more traditional cover 2.  We played a lot of three safety Friday night with both the stong safeties in the game. 

Once Tiny settled down and got back into the game he played well.  The right side of the line had the majority of the breakdowns.  I wondered who the 88 with no name on his jersey was but it was Bullard.

After receiving a "councilling session" from Dooley Neal ran more North/South (or East/West in the dome).  I would question why we went outside on the 4th and 2-3 instead of going more up the middle as for the most part we couldn't get to the outside (thougha total break down by the right side of the line made the point moot).

Maggitt is going to be a STAR.  This defense was made for him.  Lathers played well before his injury but seemed to be about a half step slow.  Sapp was very active when he came in, playing fast.

If Zack Rogers continues to play well, CP continues to learn the offense (he was lost a lot Friday night) and Pig Howard can contribute in October we will have a great group of receivers.  Hunter at maybe 85-90%, which is what he was Friday night is still exceptional.

Agree that Hunter was not 100%, though I think most of it is lack of practice and mental.

I was really glad to see Zack contribute.

CP will get better, but he won't catch anyone off guard either.

EG looked really good on the pick.  I think AJ is also a beast, and I have hopes for our giant nose tackle McCullers.  He looked good, but it's only one game so far.

EG is a ball hawk but needs to play within the system, the same as J Smith. 

BTW, of the three corners (Waggner, Teague and Coleman) who would have graded out the lowest?
