Shaw would be a great choice.  The only problem is, Stanford has the largest endowment in America by far, and they could outbid anyone- if they choose to, that is.  I'm guessing that football isn't quite as high on their list of priorities as it is in the SEC.  

Gruden is clearly option 1 and 1A right now.  But if he falls through, I would definitely make a run at Shaw.

It would be easier to get Jimbo Fisher from Florida State.

Having lived out there, I really, really, REALLY hate Stanford.  Bunch of pretentious a-holes.  The type of people that Vandy grads aspire to be.   

But I very much admire what Harbaugh and now Shaw have done with their program.  They're basically playing SEC-style football in the Pac 12, and making it work.  Everyone thought they were a flash in the pan, and would just go away when Luck left, but that hasn't been the case.  As long as Shaw is there, I think they are going to have staying power.
