Such a class thing to do.  I was really touched by this.

I like Russell Wilson a lot.

I saw a story from NFL Media a few days before the game that asked the question, "Why is Cam Newton so polarizing?" Not unsurprisingly, their answer was that it's a racial bias. I couldn't disagree more. Russell Wilson is a black QB who gets a lot of spotlight and he isn't a polarizing athlete. He and Newton are worlds apart in their actions, and that's the reason why so many people dislike Newton.

Agree with this.  The same race-baiters played the same card with Michael Vick.  But nobody hates Wilson.  Nobody hated Steve McNair.  Nobody really hated Donovan McNabb.  Ironically, McNabb's biggest haters came from those of his OWN race, because he "wasn't black enough".  I remember when Philly signed Vick, an ESPN talking head called him "The quarterback Donovan McNabb SHOULD have been".  Really?  You mean a QB who isn't as accurate a passer, doesn't win as much, and murders domesticated animals on the side?

And how do these people reconcile the number of white people who hate Johnny Manzeil and Tom Brady?

It's quite simple, really.  If you don't want people to think you're an #badword#, then don't act like an #badword#.  Duh. :frown:

My dislike of Cam stretches back to his rookie season. The first time I watched him, I joined the game while Carolina was already in the red zone but they trailed by 20 points, late 3rd quarter.  Eventually Cam got a 2 yard run for  TD, and he celebrated like....this is what I literally thought at the time, no irony intended  :naughty:...he had just won the Super Bowl.

But in reality he had just narrowed the margin late in a game his team was losing (and did lose) to 13, and they were like 2-6 or something at that point in the season.

I was like...WTF?  No other player I know, let alone a QB, acts that way.  And it's funny, because I don't recall a lot of talk about it until this year, but it's something I noticed literally a minute or two after I saw him play as a pro for the first time.  LOL!

If it was that noticeable to me, I guess it's no surprise that most of the Western world feels the same way.  Here's the deal...it's not that he celebrates, it's that he celebrates shizzle most people would not, because....it's not that big a deal!!!!

I don't think he gets that, at all.  Tebow was a cheerleader, but normally when he started acting like he had a skirt and pom poms it was over something big, like trying to motivate his team in a close game.  Tebow came nowhere close to what Cam does.

And it's not like I hate Cam's guts like some people hate Manziel (and I hate Brady  :naughty:), but he is ANNOYING AS HELL.

Do something, and THEN you can be cocky, you ass!

Wow, what a contrast from the quarterback who lost the super bowl in a heartbreaking manner just a season removed from the quarterback who lost last night.  To Stephen A and the rest of that hater media, it has nothing to do with skin color, it has everything to do with who you are as a human being.
