In our last 2 losses, opposing guards have shot 40 free throws. Our guards have shot 4 free throws in those two games. (I'll admit to being lazy and not looking this up to verify it, but it seems likely to be accurate.)

Based on what I've read it's true.

In those 2 losses to KY and LSU they combined shot 30 more FTs than we did...No matter how good you are that is very hard to overcome.

Yes there is no doubt about that. Going forward, Barnes and this team must find a way to keep guards out of the paint on a consistent basis or I don't think this team has any chance. Our defense has been suspect already of late, imo, but penetration just completely destroys a D.
