I think the OL problem last year was one of coaching, not talent, so I'm not convinced that help is needed there. I think they are pretty deep and pretty talented.

On defense we are counting on a lot of people to make big steps or big first time impacts, especially on the line.
I tend to agree with you Re: coaching.  Constant screaming and profanity works for only a short period of time.  If we can get the pulling guards to hit the right hole then I will be far happier.  There was one (short drive) last year where the right guard pulled too far inside, totally negating the main purpose of pulling the guard.  There were way too many individual breakdowns on the OL last year.  If they can play consistently as a unit we will be miles ahead, if Graham can keep the RBs from dancing.

As an aside, I am still not convinced that Bullard is the answer at center.  If Stone loses out at RG I think he is a far better answer at center, snapping left handed.  I consider Bullar the 6the best lineman, at best, probably closer to the 7th best in my view.  He got beat time, after time, after time last year.

As to your original qustion, I think I would go with H&H green stamps, as in Henderson for the DL and Henry at RB.  Honorable mention to the most likely greatest leader of the VOLS in my adult life in Al Wilson, who, IMO, single handidly (with an assist from Grant) beat the crocs in '98.

I agree on the RB, but I might pick Cobb, I don't know.  Between Henry and Lewis I would favor Lewis by a small amount.  He was faster and more athletic, though Henry had the pure strength and could often make yards on his own (with our current run blocking woes, maybe a  good thing).

And for DB, I would definitely go with EB.

If I had to take a LB, it would be Al Wilson for sure.

But...IMO our biggest challenge on D is the DL.  So I am going to say Lewis as RB and John Henderson on the DL.

Those are the two...honorable mention is Chad Clifton at OL.

IMO, other than RB, we mostly need help on the lines (but fourth I would take EB at DB).

On second thought, I'll take Reggie White over John Henderson, but I might take both if we didn't need so much help at RB.

My choice of Henderson over White is that while a VOL, Reggie only had one good season, though that was a darn good one.

Hard to go wrong with either of those guys.

Hacksaw Reynolds (that man Hated to lose) and any placekicker from the past that was able to kick the ball higher than chest high at the line of scrimmage.

Carl Pickens, play him both ways, and Steve Kiner, if ever we have had someone perfect for the 3-4, Kiner would be my choice.

Any of the great RB, and any of the great DB would be OK with me.  We need game changers.

Agree with others that punter and placekicker would not be a bad choice.

Again I don't think a kicker is so off the wall. We have left a lot of points on the field since Wilhoit left, including at least one win and maybe more that I'm not thinking of.

If we are thinking about kickers, Jeff Hall should get a shout out. He made the difference in a few games the year we won the NC.

Doug Atkins was absolutely dominating getting accolades from everyone including George Halas who said he was the best football player at any position he ever saw.

Peyton Manning makes everybody around him better.

Doug Atkins would be great so long as his talent was proportional to today.  Would be a great choice in that case.
