I think the difference in the Arkansas game was that we went into “run the clock mode” really early, which took us out of our normal offense. Lots of times we can’t score simply because we can’t score, not because we have stopped being the aggressor.

I would say that I agree with Vinnie.

One win is a must - there is no excuse for losing in round one.  I think that not making it past the first weekend should be a huge disappointment for this team. 

That said, the way this team has problems with scoring, anything is possible I think.

If they can stay away from scoring droughts, the final four is even a possibility depending on the draw.

Imo they took the air out of the ball really early, Arky got momentum, and the game was on. Add to that the fact that we were complacent on the defensive boards in the second half and you have problems. Quite few possessions in the second half, Arky shot it until the score.

KC’s inability to hit FTs is also troubling. It takes the ball out of good hands in the closing minute of the game. While I am a huge fan of ZZ, he cannot create in the paint like KC. Chandler has to correct his FT shooting.

They say they are afraid that players that are actually injured will be hesitant to go down. That's definitely not the issue now. It sucks but I’m not surprised.

As for attendance, I absolutely believe that the fact that only 5 or 6 teams have a realistic shot at a national championship every season is a big factor in the declining attendance.

Last weekend we watched 7 of the top ten teams in basketball lose. For me, I would love it if that was possible in NCAA football but we all know that it isn't likely under the current format.

NCAA suggesting shortening the game by not stopping the clock on incomplete passes and first downs. I'm not at all surprised that they would suggest a move like this. The games have become too long due in large part to TV timeouts, overly time consuming replays, and so many fake injuries. To counteract that, let's reduce the number of plays that will actually be possible in a game.

It wasn't a great game for the Vols, but it was a W.

Duke was the only top 10 team to win today.  They were on the road at Syracuse.

Lunardi just said that with all of them losing, they could potentially all fall back the same amount and stay right where they were before the day began. 

and the Zags are down 15 at the half, playing on the road against St. Mary's.

If we can keep both BHH and Aidoo, that could be a really good combo for the future.

I think its pretty obvious that ZZ will return.  Santi and Chandler are both doubtful, I'm afraid.  If all of them would return, next year's team could potentially be very special.

If UT, UK, and AU all win out then the Vols would be the 2-seed I think (UK lost to AU).

So impressive that we dug out of it and won vs #3 team.

That win locks us into the top 4 for the SEC tourney. The top four are now set - its just a matter of the final standings now.

Yes they did, with the same result.

All that matters is the final score, but that stretch from 1:15 (up 63-53) to the 0:59 mark (up 63-60) was about as ugly as it can get.

It was a great defensive effort by UT, especially in the second half.

This is a really good defensive team. Offensively, except for the last 7:15 or so of the first half, was good today.

1. Wisconsin was a 2.5 pt favorite. The over/under was 138.5.
2. With 22 seconds left UM gets a layup to make the score 76-61.
3. Wisconsin had all reserves in the game. UM still playing starters.
4. UM presses.
5. Gard uses a timeout to avoid a 10 second call.
6. UM fouls. Wisconsin reserve makes 1 of 2 FTs. The score is now 77-61 (138 total and still under).
7. UM gets an uncontested layup at the buzzer. Score is 77-63 (the over wins)

At the 6:29 mark, Davis hit a 3-pointer to put Arkansas up 47-42.  After that bucket, there were three more FGs made in the game (1 by Arkansas and 2 by Tennessee).

Toney made Arkansas' last FG at the 5:21 mark to put them up 51-42.  Chandler made a layup at 3:37 to make the score 51-44.  JJJ made a layup with 30 seconds left to make the score 55-48.

Ark was bad and we still couldn't beat them.....That's really sad.

How do you shoot 16 of 59 and get a P5 scholarship? Honest question.

Arky won by 10 and they were 18/59 from the floor!!!!!

We definitely did not get a friendly whistle today........... Tony Greene was really bad on some calls imo.

That said, you aren't going to win many games hitting 16/59 from the floor.  (Arkansas was 18/59.)  We only had 5 assists for the game.  Also, our starters shot 8 FTs (4 of those were by Uros, who will usually make just a few more than Jimmy Hoffa every game).

Scoring away from TBA was once again an issue.  Hopefully they turn it around and finish strong.  It would be great to go 4-0 in these last four games.

And just like that, we are 4th.  Oh well, hopefully finish strong in the last four games.

I have no idea what the plan was on AU's last possession, but what transpired was simply UGLY.
