When your team lacks discipline it's 100% on the coach. And this team lacks it.

Patently false, discipline false on the parents shoulders as its developed in the pre-teen years. Coaches/leaders can build on it, but 95% of the time young adult males have formed their way by the time they hit their college years.

The coach makes the decision to play them

This statement is true, and by sitting kids who lack discipline it can be instilled in them - at least while they are competing for a coach that demands it. I've witnessed it first-hand happen numerous times.

Almost all kids want to play more than anything else. They will conform to the guidelines if they know they aren't playing otherwise.

I think that it was Buzz Williams who said that the bench was his best teacher. I agree with that completely.

I think that we are also seeing this, in some degree, with CJP.

I'm with you in the sense that the coach is liable in how he responds.   It's not his fault if a kid has a discipline problem coming in, or from a previous coaching regime, but the coach has to respond properly.
