It’s probably time to back up the brinks truck and lock up Vitello. He’s going to be in high demand after this season.

And bring the facilities up to the level of literally every other sport on campus.

Fun fact (ok, not really so fun): Butch Jones is currently making nearly as much from UT every two months to rub Saban’s bunions and fetch his oatmeal creme pies as Vitello makes in an entire year.

UT up 7-2 in top of the 9th against Stanford. If we can close this out we'll be undefeated and beat 3 darn good BB teams this weekend.

Undefeated Vols!  Who hired Vitello?  Great hire. If Fulmer then he gets credit for that, also for holdign on to Barnes.

Pruitt is still a TBD, but looked good last half last season.

Things generally looking up for Vols.

(Holly Kellie is also TBD and looking worse by the game, but it's early)

Fulmer's predecessor, whose name should never be mentioned with any respect attached to it, gets credit for the Vitello hire. But it was a doggone good hire...it felt like it at the time, and it really feels like it now. He made the Vols respectable in the SEC in Year 1, competitive in Year 2...now let's work on getting to a point where we're in the hunt for a conference title and the CWS. I think Vitello can accomplish that if he stays here.

We’re not even ranked in BBA’S new top 25. Texas Tech, who we beat, moved UP from 4 to 2.

Baseball rankings are all over the map and I've never figured it out. And it seems there are 4-5 different ranking services. Going into the weekend one service had Texas Tech ranked no.1 while a couple other had them ranked 4th. I've read that don't pay much attention to the baseball rankings until 20 games into the season and it starts to sort itself out.

So we are a baseball school now? Cool. Hope they have a awesome season. Once they get to conference games it gets tough week after week. Baseball is a fickle sport. If your pitcher is off, you can lose to anyone. If he is on you can beat anyone.
