ESPN
5*, #1 player overall

24/7
5*, #25 overall, #5 OT

Scout
5*, #22 overall, #4 OT

Rivals
4*, #97 overall, #14 OT

I don't think Rivals even had him ranked until a few weeks ago (probably up to the point they discovered that Saban really wanted him).  Of course now that he's committed to someone other than bammer, he'll probably drop out of their rankings again.

He will always be a 5 star in life, now that Butch has him under his wing.  Ugh, sorry bout that but I couldn't resist.   But who cares this sounds like a great get to me

I'm not worried about his potential.  Obviously he has a ton of it.

What I am worried about is if our coaching staff can get him anywhere near the upside of his potential.  That, I have serious doubts about.

I've seen plenty of examples of players developing to at or beyond their perceived ability.  Barnett and Sutton come to mind.   The exceptions are WR and OL, but this year WR (Jennings and Malone, and even Byrd) finally seemed to click.  OL still an issue.  There is an obvious solution to that.
