I'm far from a baseball expert, but I don't think you simply reload from last year's super team without missing a beat do you?  Seems a bit unreasonable to expect.

I don’t think anyone expected to just reload. We had to replace every position player. But the weekend rotation came back intact, and they’ve been a big disappointment. This was supposed to be one if the greatest college rotations of all time, and they’ve all three disappointed to varying degrees (though Beam seems to be getting his groove back). Thank God the bullpen is still great, or we might still be waiting for our first SEC win.

I wonder about the awarding of big contracts and drop off in performance in some cases. It happens a lot with pro athletes, maybe this is an issue with our coach?  Hope not, but its possible.
