Apparently whenever we play Purdue, in ANY sport, we're going to get bent over and fizzleed.

This is only the second time we play them in football, and we have rarely played them in BBall

All on Heupel.  He better learn from this.

Heupel coulda called better plays here and there, but it is not his fault we got ASS RAPED by the refs and had a TD stolen from us by the refs in OT.  I'm more disappointed by the ridiculously uneven officiating, and our poor defensive performance.  Purdue is not that good.  We should have beaten them by 14 easily.

I didn't agree with the attempt on 4th and 1 up 31-30 with a chip shot FG possible. I understand going for it, but 34-30 means they need a TD. And that ended up being the difference.  Very strange decision IMO

Small should have been the back in OT. Very strange sequence at the end of reg and OT.

Was it a chip shot FG?  I thought it would have been a 40-45 yarder or so,. but I forget the situation.  Our playcalling on 3rd and short was pretty miserable.  ANd the F-U-C-K-I-N-G refs short changed us on spots ALL fizzleING DAY LONG.  It was fizzleing amazing.

From the very first drive. Most close spots were nearly a yard or more off in their favor.

As I recall, we were at the 17.  There was an earlier 4th and 4 from about the 30.  That one I understood, maybe.  Not the second one.

No I don't.  Was distracted with other things that year.  Vaguely recall it now that you mention it, but will have to google to get the details.

Also, what insanity is it to go for it on 4th twice in OT, when a FG beats you?   There’s being a “riverboat gambler” and there’s just foolish….

I dunno - the way they were moving the ball against us, I was somewhat agreeing with the TD or nothing strategy.

But in OT, where they basically start their possession in FG range?

Maybe I’m wrong here, but I wasn’t a fan of that at all.

Agree. But it never goes to OT if we kick the FG up 31-30 to make it a 4 point lead.

For your viewing pleasure. FF to the 1:17:00 mark. The refs literally missed 3 calls in Purdue's favor in the last 4 seconds of regulation. I'm still pissed about it.

Yes I recall now. Not enough on the OOB to overturn, and Turner did get Robinson with his body even though it was ticky tack.

On the timeout call, I don't think it's  a good idea to try that to begin with IMO.

But definitely they should not have called the foul. The other two I can understand though.

I will have to agree to disagree, BDV.

The ball did not hit his leg.

The foul was questionable and could have gone either way.

The ruling on the clock at the end was by the book.  We can debate whether or not the TO should be given at the point that the player signals it, but that is not the way the rule is written.  The rule stops the clock when the official recognizes the request.  That simply was not an intelligent play in that situation, imo.

The only team to get screwed by two (2) incorrectly called progress/grasp calls in the season
