When I right-click a link and click to open in a new tab, how can I get that new tab window to display without clicking the tab?

If you're trying to surf using one hand, don't start a "What Is Droner Browsing Tonight" thread!

<Ctl><Tab>

That works if I just want to open an empty tab. But when I right-click a link and click open in a new tab, it used to display it automatically. For some reason it changed.
