I read that but didn't believe it was correct. The article said the Vols would wear orange and NC State would wear red. I assumed that they were referring to the colors in general and not the jerseys.

That could be interesting.

It would be interesting in Tennessee wore all orange and NCSU wore all red

Interesting. A few years ago, when Pete Carroll was still at USC and Neuheisel was at UCLA, Neuheisel wanted to wear their blue shirts at a USC home game. If I remember correctly the rule was that if they did they would be docked a time out, and Carroll burned a time out to even things out.

I read that too and the first thing I thought was that would be cool! Would still love to see the Vols come out in all black. I'd have the jersey accented with some orange around the shoulder area and the pants with a different kind of stripe down the leg area and top it all off with a black helmet with the Big Orange Power T on it. That would look awesome in my opinion but there are just too many purists out there, nothing against them, for that to ever happen in my opinion.

I wouldn't mind them coming out in black. I think it would look cool, too.  I'd like to see it as a reward for the team for a good season....maybe for the bowl game if it's good enough of a bowl to really be proud of.

True, but when folks use "tradition" as the reason to not use black, it's not a good argument, imho.

I don't know if the majority of fans of college sports even know or care about the traditions anymore. I know the players don't.

I don't mind the black on special occasions. But they had better win when they do that or they come off looking fairly foolish.

That I agree with. I don't think the team is in a position to pull off a major jersey change right now.  We need to have our swagger back first.

I just registered for the free cigar. I think they're giving them away to anyone who registers. Thanks for the heads up!
