L$U shot their wad on the first two drives

Since then they have looked like a 3 going on 4 loss team

Georgia's offense is making LSU look ridiculous.

Well, LSU's hopes of getting back in it ended with a ridiculous decision to go into the shotgun and hand the ball off on 4th & inches.

That drives me crazy. I have seen it twice today. Shotgun formation and hand the ball off 5-6 yards behind the line of scrimmage to gain a foot.

The QB sneak is becoming a lost art. I guess I understand the argument that these spread offenses aren't used to going under center but it seems like it would be prudent to practice short-yardage situations with the QB under center. It's much easier to line up nose-to-nose and push the pile a foot than to hand it off 5 yards in the backfield and hope the defense doesn't get penetration.

But what can I say? I'm not making $9mil a year to coach football.

I was surprised LSU scored 30 to be honest...

And I would bet my next annual retirement check that I can install 10 plays in the solid I offense and get a yard and most of the time more with just those 10 plays...The only thing is you actually have to coach the solid I offense.....linemen on stepping...drive blocking...pulling...trapping. Teach the QB steps...fakes etc...And the same for the backs....Today's zone blocking...backs picking a opening crap there's not a lot of coaching going on....It's a lazy mans offense as far as coaching... One back....QB in the shotgun....need a yard and hand it to a RB 6 yards deep standing still....That's the definition of stupidity.

I don't know if any offense that primarily operates out of the I can recruit at a high level in today's game. But it can certainly be used as a novelty in short yardage situations. Remember when we lined up in the I against bammer and they had no idea what to do? They were still trying to figure out where to line up and we were already in the end zone.

Exactly!  If you're going to do that, might as well kick the FG and get 3.
