I like it.  I don't know how appropriate it is to take a civil rights anthem and apply it to a football team, but whatever works.  Here's another that would be applicable:

As emotional as we all are right now,  Dooley won't get fired over this loss.

No but he's a dead man coaching for the rest of the season.  Might as well start thinking about his replacement now.
